Product Description
Secret Hitler is a dramatic game of political intrigue and betrayal set in 1930's Germany. Players are secretly divided into two teams - liberals and fascists. Known only to each other, the fascists coordinate to sow distrust and install their cold-blooded leader. The liberals must find and stop the Secret Hitler before it’s too late.
Each round, players elect a President and a Chancellor who will work together to enact a law from a random deck. If the government passes a fascist law, players must try to figure out if they were betrayed or simply unlucky. Secret Hitler also features government powers that come into play as fascism advances. The fascists will use those powers to create chaos unless liberals can pull the nation back from the brink of war.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2024If only I had the words to say what I want to say here. I have massive respect for the maker(s) of this game. The level of design that went into this game is nothing short of brilliant. This game is not only perfectly balanced in general but impressively balanced on all levels of play, both casually and competitively. I can't stress how rare that is! Most games like this can only be enjoyed on either a casual or competitive level but this is a game that demands everyone to play it.
All my friends love it and are completely obsessed with it. I am normally the one trying to get my friends to play board games, and sometimes that takes a lot of effort to entice them. This game changes that. Everyone consistently talks about the next time we can all play again.
This game has a 4.9 star rating for a good reason. Spend the $35. It doesn't break the bank. For all the extra hours and hours I got to spend with my friends because of this game, I'd say it may have been the best $35 I will have ever spent in my life.
This game does have some minor draw backs.
1. It requires 5-10 people. I have found this best works with 6-10, though 8-10 is ideal. I specifically like it when it is harder to win as a Fascists, so 10 or 8 player is my preference.
2. It isn't quite a family game. Some say this game is more suited for ages 13+, but really I think its best enjoyed with ages 16+, or even 18+. I have seen this game rated as a 1.74/5 complexity, but that may be misleading. Like I said it does a great job at engaging all audiences, but there is a lot of depth to it. It is about as complex as Among us. There are some people that play it for fun and some that are really good at it. There are a lots of opportunities for 200 IQ plays as well as putting your impermeable acting skills to the test.
I think that covers it. Now go give it a shot!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2024Though this game can be a bit confusing to play at first, it's well worth the time to learn it! This is the best social deception game I've played to date. The theme fits nicely with the mechanics of the game, which at its core involves a smaller team trying to sabotage a larger one. (Most people won't for certain know who's on which team!) There metagaming that can be done is rather limited, so its really focuses on reading & interacting with others and a dose of logical thinking. If you enjoy games about lying to your friends, this is an exceptional one!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2023Secret Hitler is hands down one of the most enjoyable board games I have had the pleasure of playing. While it may come with a slightly higher price tag, the entertainment and excitement it delivers make it worth every penny.
The theme and gameplay are captivating, immersing players in a thrilling atmosphere where trust is tested, alliances are formed, and suspicions run high. Each round is filled with tension and strategic decision-making, keeping everyone engaged and invested from start to finish.
One of the highlights of Secret Hitler is its impeccable game design. The rules are well-crafted, striking a perfect balance between simplicity and depth. The mechanics are easy to grasp, allowing newcomers to quickly get involved, while the various roles and strategies add layers of complexity that keep the game fresh and exciting even after multiple plays.
What truly sets Secret Hitler apart is the dynamic and interactive gameplay it offers. The social deduction element creates an atmosphere of suspicion and excitement, leading to intense debates, unexpected twists, and memorable moments. It is a game that sparks lively discussions and laughter, making it perfect for gatherings with friends and family.
While the initial investment may seem slightly high, the countless hours of entertainment and the sheer enjoyment that Secret Hitler brings make it worth every cent. It is a game that will undoubtedly become a staple in your board game collection, delivering endless fun and intrigue for years to come.
In conclusion, Secret Hitler is an exceptional board game that combines a captivating theme, clever mechanics, and interactive gameplay to provide one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences out there. Despite its initial cost, the hours of entertainment and laughter it brings make it a fantastic investment. If you're a fan of social deduction games and are looking for a thrilling and immersive experience, I highly recommend giving Secret Hitler a try.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2024This game is so fun! It is always a crowd favorite. I get asked to bring this wherever I go for a party or a game night at someone else's house. I like that you can have 5 - 10 people making it an incredible party game. I have had people at parties stop partying just to watch this game. 10/10 recommend if you like fun and board games.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great game to call our family facists and call your mother a Hitler 😂
Love this game it's one of the enjoyable deduction games I played. It is easy to play with people who ypu never played with and it's fun for a whole family when you are calling everyone a facist because they put facist policies in play. (Aka a red card instead of blue) 😂 it's very cleaver in the way that there is mayority of people being Liberals and only few people being facist, but this also reflected in oposite way when it comes to Policies (red and blue cards) as sometimes even the best intentioned liberal can get three facist policies in a row during the policie draw and you have to explain why you had to put the facist policy to your other fellow liberals. 😂 It's great game with few more special additions as the game go on and you unlock special facist powers that can help you as a good intentioned liberal as much as it can help a facist. Also never believe your mother! She's always a Hitler! 😂
Genuinely fun game to play with group of friends or family. Also it's light hearted and does not take it self seriously. There is no real Facist or Nazi iconography and is more there as a lighthearted fun spin on your usual deduction games. I full heartidly recommend this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good game to play with friends. Always a pleasure.
Knew this game because a friend had it and I had to have one. It's a "werewolf" style game where you have to find out who are the "fascists" and vote liberal laws before the bad guys win.
